The primary sealant is the key to preventing moisture vapor migration and gas infiltration. Butyl used for this purpose provides sealing along the edge thickness, preventing moisture from entering the insulating glass unit and preventing the gas filled inside the unit from escaping. Our polyisobutylene sealants GD 115, GD 115 grey, GD 115 S and Naftotherm BU-S have an extremely low moisture permeability rate, good gas retention ability and show strong adhesion on glass and edge moldings. In addition, all our butyls of course meet the requirements of the EN 1279 standard.

If high UV resistance is required at the edge, silicone is preferred for secondary sealing. Our silicone sealants not only have good UV resistance but also particularly good resistance to weather conditions and temperature.
