The primary sealing material is key to preventing moisture vapor transmission and gas leakage. Butyl, used for this purpose, provides a seal along the edge thickness, preventing moisture from entering the insulated glass unit and stopping the gas inside the unit from escaping. Our polyisobutylene sealants—GD 115, GD 115 grey, GD 115 S, and Naftotherm BU-S—exhibit extremely low moisture permeability and excellent gas retention capabilities, along with strong adhesion properties on glass and spacer bars. Moreover, all of our butyls, of course, meet the requirements of the EN 1279 standard.
